Today I am going to give you one of my favourites and two ways to do it. It is the squat lateral, but today you will see how you can increase the challenge by using a towel or if you are a fan of the TRX, I will show you how to use that as well.
Remember to keep your weight over the foot that is in contact with the floor. You will not shift your hips as you perform the dynamic squat lateral, that will be very, very stressful on your groins.
Start with bodyweight and then add some resistance -- it is harder than it looks.
The benefits of this exercise is the strength you can develop in your leg while maintaining a stable hip position -- so strength + stability in the 'working leg' and the lengthening of the adductors on the 'gliding' leg which is how you develop mobility.
